Destry By: Lola Stark

Sometimes love happens in the blink of a cow. There is just something about a quick, hot cowboy read that makes me want to saddle up and ride one.  Lola has this way with her stories that will engage you and have you jumping right in with both feet. I love when an author gives you something different from what you're used to. This book takes me back to when I first started reading. The possessive cowboy meets girl-- girl works his heart over and the sparks start flying.

Destry and Amelia were fun to read. High society girl almost runs into cow; broody cowboy comes to the rescue. Amelia is running from a past and failed engagement to a guy she never loved. Destry is running from a past he has no intentions of forgetting or reliving. As always from Ms. Stark, you get feisty intelligent women and hard-headed men.

Ms. Stark's ability to make you fall hard and fast for the other characters in her book, without feeling like they are taking over the book, is one of the reasons why I love her. She has you laughing, rolling your eyes, and cussing her characters all at the same time. I love watching her bring them together--you never know exactly what twists she will put in.

Reasonable Doubt By: Whitney Gracia Williams

That moment you find the perfect fucking asshole that beats the last asshole you read. Yea, that's what you will be thinking the moment you start reading this book. I have fallen in love with a guy named Andrew Hamilton, otherwise know as Thoreau. I couldn't decide if I want to put my hands in pants or swipe to the next damn page. Dirty mouth? Check. Dick? Check. Take you panties off and spin them like a helicopter? Double Check. I'm not one to read a blurb, so when I read the first line, I was sold. Cock with an appetite meet my vagina with an appetite... and oh did Andrew's dirty talking satisfy it.

 Andrew Hamilton is a man who doesn't do relationships. He is a one night only, screw them and leave them kind of guy. He has one friend in the form of an online relationship. Alyssa aka Aubrey doesn't take his shit, she gives it right back tenfold, and yet she is the only friend he has. While he is busy dishing out his 5 word dickhead commands, she is unknowingly bypassing his barriers he has up. What happens when the impossibility of ever meeting--happens. When deceptions are uncovered? Sometimes though it's better to offer up the truth than to disclose lies--because in the end it all comes out.

“It’s Mr. Hamilton, Miss Everhart.” He glared at me. “Mr. fucking Hamilton.”
 

Reasonable Doubt will leave you wanting to be Reasonably Drunk after you finish. I'm pretty sure I made up some new words once I came to the end of this book. Cliffhangers are a love/hate thing for me. I love to anticipate the next book, but I hate the feeling in my chest of needing to know what happens next. I totally invested in Andrew and Aubrey and now I need more-- More writing, more sexting, more tension and more of Ms. Williams' writing. 

You will be Super-glued to the pages.

Because You're MIne By: K. Langston

Holden. Holden. Holden. How do I love thee? He is perfect in every way. Watching Holden go balls to the wall for Maddie, and Maddie giving him hell for doing it makes me smile. The tension that radiates off these two is hot. Toss in some banter with a splash of attitude and it was the perfect combination. I couldn't put this book down once I started. I enjoyed the author's writing style, the flow as well as her ability to make me want to hump the hell outta Holden.

“You’re awfully sure of yourself. Aren’t cha?” Looking over at me, she took another bite.

“When I want something bad enough, I do what I gotta do.”

Holden is the type of good guy that has an edge. He has a past--and it's not a pretty one. Harboring guilt, he has built a life being a workaholic with only his cousin as family. Madison. I knew I would like her from the beginning. When a book starts out with the female in a sex only relationship, not even kissing is allowed, involving her boss-- that just screams Independent Female. 

Turning away from him, I didn’t chance a look back, but I didn’t fail to hear two words

Fall from his mouth as I walked away.

“Fuck Me.”

There is just something about a book that has a hot, possessive guy fighting for a take-no-shit female. These types of books are what I scour the romance genre for. The ones that introduce you to the next characters in a book and have you excited to get your hands on it. I can't wait to continue my reader relationship with this author. She has the Alpha lover in me intrigued.
