Torn Arc provided by the great KIM KARR

Torn (Connections, #2)Torn by Kim Karr
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

ARC PROVIDED BY THE AUTHOR

We have all read them the books that stay with you.The one book that comes to your mind the moment someone poses the question "What book gripped you?" It was Connected for me and now Torn has joined the ranks.I fell in a love/hate relationship with Kim Karr during her first book I thought there would be no way she would ever play with my emotions the way she did during Connected.Yes like all of you after I finished Connected I open mouthed drooled over myself while repeatedly whisper yelling No No No!Ok, there might have been a "That bitch" (saying this with awe) in there.Lets move to present day when I started Torn and was brought back to half the time seeing Kim in a meadow with a halo around her head and the other half in a dark basement evilly cackling while feverishly writing screaming "and for my next trick my pretty ones." It shouldn't be right how one person can hold the power to have you feeling so in love one minute, heart beating out of your chest the next to just pissed off at everyone for no reason at all or for every damn reason. Honestly how my kindle survived without grip marks amazes me- as many times during this read I had to mentally tell myself ease up there princess and just freaking breathe.

What can I say about River, he is the book boyfriend that every time he opens his mouth or does something sweet you just fall a little more in love. He is thoughtful, caring and loyal beyond belief. I don't think I have highlighted so much in a book, but I just had to capture what was happening with him and Dahlia. I wanted to remember my favorite parts- I just didn't realize I would have pages of them. I enjoyed seeing a little more possessiveness out him in Torn. With everything that happened he never faltered in his love and ability to protect and trust me there was a lot to happen (yes you have to read it to find out) between all of them.

More gushing to follow I know, I know just stay with me the Kim Karr love fest is about over.

Not to often do you find a book with such strong characters both male and female.Dahlia was just as strong minded and loyal as River.Yes at parts I cringed, at parts I thought WTF are you doing (insert major Kindle gripage) to plenty of I can't finish this I just cant go on, but just remember although she tears you down she won't leave you there for long.

"There are no Pieces,I promise You"

If you thought she wowed you in the first book then let's just say she put on her big girl panties in the second book and said GAME ON.The story is beautiful. The writing is flawless and Kim is a genius. You have a true fan (perhaps stalker) forever (draws an x over my heart). Thank You for this journey into seeing your love for writing play out in your books this isn't just a read its a true experience.

Against the RopesAgainst the Ropes by Sarah Castille
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Holy Mother Alpha..This book was just what I needed.Torment/Max was hot and bossy and everything in between..I love when the guy is overprotective to the point of obsessed. Thats right this girl waves her freak flag proud. To me an Alpha male is alpha in the bedroom and out and Sarah Castille nailed it head fucking on.

Max is running an underground fight club when Mckayla happens to stumble over the line and into his ring.I loved Max the minute he opened that damn bossy mouth and let me tell ya he can burn the pages up with his seduction techniques.

description

Mckayla was cracking my ass up at the beginning, I found she was very likable and when she said Manhandling bad.Forceful bad. I was right there with her wondering why the hell its such a turn on.

I loved the banter between Max and Mckayla and how even when she was being a twat, he was always right there for her.Did I mention how hot Max was? Hot as in make you do a damn vagina check hot..

Craving Constellations (The Aces, #1)Craving Constellations by Nicole Jacquelyn
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

What do you when after one night of recklessness you walk away from the only life you have ever known? From the protection, the family and walk into your worst nightmare. After a mistake that put Brenna on the path of a abusive 5 year relationship of trying to save herself and her daughter,Brenna and Trix are on there way home back to the life she fled 5 years ago back to the man who knows none of her secrets. This is about wishing on the stars for redemption about becoming a fighter instead of the punching bag. This is a story of learning how to trust, how to find the inner warrior we all possess. Its about giving your daughter the name of a warrior when all she has ever seen is cowardliness.

description

I loved Dragons strength and his ability to be tender, but did I love him every moment?NO! I was so shocked at what the author wrote in this scene that i just stared at my kindle wishing it didn't happen. This is something I usually don't stand for but the way it was done in a sad way or maybe at least in my head I understood. My heart ached for these two,I felt the tears the pain and the struggle to try and mend a past that was destroyed with lies and betrayal.I wanted to judge while reading, i cant tell you how many times I thought "why didn't you just leave" but its always easy saying this when you are looking in and not living in the fear and haze that one day you may never walk away.

description

Its hard to find a balance between the back characters not over taking the main characters but she did I loved everyone in this book and felt like they provided a backbone when one was needed. This is not your average fall in love and live happily ever after. This a road less traveled to finding yourself and learning how to lean on people when it feels like the walls are falling. Its about walking into the sunset when all you have ever known are the dismal days of hell.

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

IT only takes one moment in time to see everything you hoped, wished and lived for pass by in the blink of eye.To have a tragic experience open up your eyes to everything you ever dreamed of but didnt think you deserved.

description

This is the journey of Nathan and Lila two broken souls trying to find the path they were both born to walk.Have you ever felt broken, walking around and surviving day to day thinking this is what you deserved. Have you ever felt your soul is in pieces like a jigsaw puzzle waiting on the right person to sit down and try to put you back together and when they do you know they will start with the outside and work their way in.Then once that last piece was put in you fill complete, worthy and ready to face all the evils.

description

This is not your fairy tale romance where Prince Charming rides up on his horse this story is about raw love, passion and a willing to fight for something you know is lying underneath the surface. This is a story of a love so powerful so deep and broken its soul wrenching and when they come together its what stories are written about.
These two people feed off of each other they need the touch the looks the possession in each others eyes. Its about watching a building that is 100 years old fall to the ground and replaced with a new more stable one because in this story 2 people were tore down and although they were built back stronger as a individual as a duo they will take on the world that destroyed them.

Nathan and Lila's passion can be felt with every word. Its not poetic its raw and real and earth shattering. These two people feed off the need to be near and have each other.

description

The author brings you in on her journey of two people learning how to close old wounds and learn to not only survive with themselves but learn to love and depend on each other.KNowing that you are lost and letting someone switch the light on for you to find the way.

Loved This Book

Fueled (The Driven Trilogy, #2)Fueled by K. Bromberg
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Bent not broken is how I feel right about now.Where Driven was fun and sassy with a little of hurt my heart,Fueled was heart wrenching, soul shattering have you gasping for breaths you didn't know you were holding.

I wonder if there's pain when you die. This pretty much sums up the thoughts of an 8 year old boy who has suffered a tragic up bringing and as a man is learning to slay his demons.Breaking down walls during the day conflicted with nightmares at night halting progress to move forward. Colton was opened up in this book we learned about his past, his thought process, but also about the sweet side the dominating side and I loved every bit of it.I loved watching Colton get his shit together and start fighting for a piece of love that he thought was not deserved.

We're not broken,baby..we're just bent and bents okay.Bent means that we're just figuring things out.

description

Its not normal for me to read a book and have my emotions on full display. One minute I feel like my chest is about to cave in and the next I want to shove my face in the freezer to cool down.I wanted so many times to yell at Rylee "just give up" but she never did.She pushed and pushed slowly breaking the cement walls that Colton spent so long building.

She pushes me. Unmans me. Consumes me. Scares the ever-loving shit out of me.

This book ticked off everything I look for in a book.A continued story that rivals the first book, great banter, rip your heart emotions, hot steamy scenes,Alpha take no shit male and a female lead who will hold you by your balls.
My only complaint. What the hell was you thinking with the end as if you didn't put me in cardiac arrest enough during this book you go and pull an end that had me hoping I could exchange my heart for an extra liver so I could drink my way to processing the cliffhanger.

Tara's Review ~ Cage by Harper Sloan

Cage (Corps Security, #2)Cage by Harper Sloan
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

What do you do when your writing your second book in a series..You knock the bitch out of the park. You want an Alpha male?Meet Greg Cage. You want a bossy man who turns up the heat in the bedroom? Meet Greg Cage and lastly you want a man who has the Trifecta of vaginal bliss meet fucking Greg The beast Cage.

WE were introduced to Cage in Axel where he was playing the role of big brother, protector and friend. He is living the life of a playboy until one heated look with a stranger brings him to his knees.THis is what he realizes he is missing, what his soul is craving this connection.

description

Melissa is a strong, independent and sassy spit fire.I loved her from the moment she was brought in.She is hell bent on paving her way in the world with noone but herself to lean on. She is no stranger to pain and loss and struggles each day to remember that sometimes to learn how to fly you have to jump first.

description
I loved how Cage just stepped right up into the role of this is my woman and noone will mess with her.He was so sweet with a side of dirty that just makes your panties melt.
"But I'm your beast,and baby...every Beauty needs a Beast"

description

The side characters are just as funny in this book as the first one and if this book is half of what is to come I will be first in line with the one clicker. When you are fanning yourself 5% into a book all you can do is just sit back and enjoy the ride.
