A Reason To Breathe By: C.P. Smith

Some people were born to do certain things –this author was born to write. I have never been so in awe of a debut author in all my time of reading. She captivated me from the first page – had me hanging on until the last page and at the end not wanting to let go. I’m not one to do extreme things to chase the adrenaline rush; my rush has always come from finding “the” book. The one that is always on the tip of your tongue when someone asks you to name a favorite book and then when they ask you why it’s a favorite you can’t seem to put into words,  to come close enough to doing it justice. A Reason to Breathe will be that book. This isn’t your normal, predictable, “I know what’s going to happen before it happens story”. No, this book has you holding your breath in shock at the twists and turns. Toss in the fact she jumped to the top of 'authors who can write a fucking alpha male' list and she just also moved to my authors who I plan to stalk the hell out of list.
Jack surpassed all my other book boyfriends.  If I was asked to describe my favorite male character I would have to ask “Have your read Jack yet?” He was all bossy, protective and possessive and then toss in a sense of humor and I knew I was done for the minute he opened his mouth. Every time he talked I wanted to stick my hands in my pants.  There is just something about watching a male get thrown off balance by a female and watching him fall to his knees in the process that is even better. Jenn was no push over and for once I found myself not annoyed with a female. She was strong, smart-mouthed and did whatever the hell she wanted to regardless the consequences. Put the two of them together and you end up with fireworks. To be able to combine a love story with a mix of suspense that isn't predictable is every readers dream

I probably don't have a handful of books that once I read I will go back to at a later date to reread, but this one just got added to my list. As soon as I finished this book I immediately went back to the beginning to start again just so I didn't lose that feeling you get during one of your favorite reads.  I was ready to throw down 5 stars before I was half way done I was that invested in every word and every page. C.P Smith has made me fall in love with not only her males, but her writing. I cant wait to see all the things that are about to happen with this author. To say she is going to go places is an understatement.

One Ride By: Chelsea Camaron

I love any and all books about motorcycle clubs and this one was no different. There is just something about the story that sucks you in and makes you want to live in the world with all the protection of family that isn’t blood, but sometimes more than blood. I thought the writing in the story was good and kept me wanting to continue to find out more about Doll and Tripp.
Doll has lived her life as a Hellion it’s all she knows. She’s tough, caring and full of sass. I really enjoyed reading her character. I loved the immediate attraction between her and Tripp and the fact that from the very beginning Tripp felt possessive of her. I loved Tripp and at times he pissed me off (ok one time) once again I found myself looking over it. He was fighting the attraction to Doll knowing that he could never be the safe bet that she needs in her life. Sometimes caring and loving someone  will only turn out bad in the end.
Although at times I thought the book was a little to descriptive and would have enjoyed more dialogue time with Tripp and Doll together I found myself endeared to the story. Once they met it really picked up for me. I loved Sass and Tank and hope they  get their own book.

Raw By: Belle Aurora

Gutted. That is the only way to describe what you will feel after reading this book. This is not your normal romance book that makes you feel all warm inside. The book is well…Raw, intense and quite frankly gutsy. I fell in love with Belle's sense of humor in her last book so I was intrigued when I found out she was venturing into something completely different. She didn't disappoint. I remember asking one of the girls if 6% was too soon to confess my love of Twitch - followed by this is my ultimate male. Belle's ability to draw you into a story along with writing strong characters has quickly made her one of my go to authors come release time.

Twitch is my favorite asshole. I loved him hard and while most people probably cringed at some of his words; I sat back and just smiled. He may not have been your knight in shining armor during the book, but at the end he deserved to be called a king. He was out for revenge, revenge for false hopes that at a young age was the only thing he had to hold on to. Hope burned out and was soon replaced with vengeance. The only problem with his plan was the girl who he wanted revenge on since she was 6 yr was still the same loving girl he knew then. Watching Twitch come to his knees and submit to feelings he had never felt before is what made this book come alive for me. Although at times I wanted Lexi to appear tougher, I realized that the softness in her made Twitch seem more human to me.

This book left me with my heart laying on the ground. I'm not sure how long I stared at the last page repeating " this girl (author)  has lost her ever-loving mind." Then I sat back and realized that all my life I have read predictable books and at times wished they would have thrown me for a loop. Well congrats Belle not only did you leave my heart shattered and my lungs gasping for air, you also managed to leave me with a story that I will love and curse for a long time.

A Girl by Any Other Name By: MK Schiller

I love the moment you start reading a book and know you will love it instantly. Once I started this book I couldn’t put it down. I didn’t just read the book  I went on a journey with the author. I fell in love with both Cal and Sylvie not once, but twice.  I’m usually the reader who hates to spend a lot of time in the past lives of my characters, but the author captivated me with her writing that reading about their past became some of my favorite parts. I found my heart breaking for them at times, smiling at them at times and spellbound by the story the whole time.

Cal and Sylvie met at a young age and once their friendship was formed they became inseparable. Sylvie had to grow up at a young age and living with secrets that prevented her to be normal. Even at a young age Cal was loyal to the friendship he developed that quickly turned to love. I loved Cal! He became Sylvie's foundation, best friend and confidant. Although the book had its super sweet moments it also comes with the heart wrenching pain of losing the one thing that makes your heart beat.
For me this book had everything I hoped it would. The dialogue was fun and felt real. The ending was like a smack in the face for me. You get so lost in the story that when the final moments it all comes out you're completely blown away that you didn't see it coming.. The characters creep into your heart and take a place that later after reading numerous books you will smile out of the blue and think of Cal saying “Girl” or find yourself answering a question using ‘kay’ and that is what books are supposed to do.

Brutal By: K.S. Adkins

If you picked up this book hoping for warm soft cuddles than you picked up the wrong fucking book. This is about rawness, revenge, love and also fighting for your own injustices. I started reading this book and was in awe that this was a debut novel. The writing is so real and intense, but yet so effortlessly described in detail that makes you feel like you are living in the story. This is not your everyday romance book it’s a book about tortured pasts, reasons to fight, learning to live and in the end straddling the line between right and wrong.
Venessa lost everything the night she watched her family die – hoping for death as well, but forced to live a life with memories of the brutal attack forced upon her. What would have made most people stop fighting – pushed her to fight harder. That night her dreams died and a vigilante was born. Straddling the line of fighting monsters, but not becoming a monster.  V only sees a future clawing for the atonement she so desperately needs. Venessa is such a kick ass lead female that she quickly steals your heart and in the end has you rooting that the hate does not suck her in. What I loved about Venessa was although she was so tough on the outside she came across caring and loyal as well.
Rogan, I loved him instantly. He was a broody, growling, asshole who was all Alpha. He’s fighting on the right side of the law as it's all he knows and wants until he meets Venessa. The need to protect her is intense as is the need to make her his. Rogan was perfect in my eyes. The walls he built to keep people out crumbled once he set his eyes on  V and to me that made him endearing. He would do anything for V including teetering the line of the law that he lived by.

One of things I loved most about this book was feeling like I was living in the pages. I felt the need to fight along with the characters. I lived their pain, love and also the need to have revenge. I watched Rogan and Venessa heal each other, help each other and fight for each other. I couldnt put the book down once I started. When you toss in suspense, great character, a fucking awesome story line and back characters that demand their own book, you know you have an author to watch out for.
