Long Shot by Kennedy Ryan

Sometimes you just need something different. You need that book that pushes the boundaries of happy ever after. A book that doesn't always paint love with rose colored glasses, but it paints it with the heartache, the pain and the letting go when every part of your soul screams to hold on.

Iris and August will immediately steal your heart. You just feel the sincerity of Augusts words to the point you just know that true love will prevail above all else. This book is an emotional roller coaster. You will feel every up and down and will spend a good part of this book in shock at some of the twist and turns.  You knew they belonged together, but the law of love seemed to separate them at every turn that you just knew when it did finally happen the storm was still brewing and Iris and August was right in the path of it.

Ms. Ryan can weave a story. I really enjoyed the way she brought the story full circle. I felt like I was with these two every step of the way. I was there fighting for both of them and to me that is what makes a book a great book.

Until Harmony by Aurora Rose Reynolds

Let me start this review with the fact that Aurora Rose Reynolds is one of my favorite authors. She may write the book, but her characters tell the story. She has this ability to make me want to be there and be involved in the making of finding love. As much as I would like to say that Harmony and Harlen won me over I struggled to find a connection. I just didn't feel that energy and connection that I usually do in her books.

I felt like the first 20% of the book was way to descriptive. I wanted to get to know Harmony and Harlen and fall in love with them.  I just seemed to find myself confused about who was who and when I wanted to just read about Harlen and Harmony it seemed everyone else took over.

I will always have mad love for this author and nothing will ever make me not drop everything to read her books when they come out. I cant wait to see and read something new from her.

Gentleman Nine by Penelope Ward

It's hard not to get excited when a new Penelope Ward book comes out. She has something special about her writing that makes you want more...need more of her words. As much as I would love to sit here and type all the words that has me loving this book I just can't do it. I wanted to. I wanted to remember these two. I wanted them to stand out among all the rest.

Unfortunately, I just couldn't connect with these two. The conversations just didn't seem sincere for me. I wanted to feel the chemistry and that love from all the years ago, but it just fell short and I couldn't seem to find the connection between Channing and Amber.

I'm not saying I didn't enjoy their characters- just as a couple I didn't connect with the story they were telling. I think my favorite most connecting part of this book was when Rory told his side of the story.  I felt all the feels and emotions I wanted to feel as Amber and Channing were finding their way.

Look The Part by Jewel E Ann

Jewel E Ann was meant to write and I have never been more grateful that I get to read her stories. Her words were meant to touch the pages of books just like they touch the hearts of the people who read them. Her stories were meant to awe. There is this energy in her writing and her characters that make the books come to life.  She writes books that are different and yet, so engaging that they instantly become your favorites.

There is an excitement knowing that one of your favorite authors is releasing a new book. Its like an adrenaline rush that has you waiting on that next high, and that next high comes in the form of a story that steals you heart and makes it beat again.

Flint and Ellen instantly have this attraction with each other, but the sarcasm and push and pull that rolls off of them makes this book. I couldn't wait for Ellen to ignore everything that Flint said just like I couldn't wait for Flint to call her out on her shit. These two were great, but toss in Harry and I was an instant goner.

This isnt just a must read its a book that as a reader you shouldn't let pass you by. Its a story that is told in such humor and raw honesty that its like you know the characters in the book. This is a top read of 2018 I will guarantee you that.

Bad For You by J. Daniels

This book took me a little bit to get into. I just wasn't sure that I was going to connect, but when I connected with it I found myself laughing at one point and hoping for a happy outcome in the next. If you are looking for a cute book with little drama and a guy who doesn't need to say much to get his point across then this is the book for you.

I loved that Shayla only wanted to take care of Sean. Her grit and tenacity made her character in this book. She was fierce, loyal and honest and it was so endearing that you couldn't even fault her meddling into Sean's life. He was trying to make up for every mistake and yet, still take the blame for everything in his life.

If you are looking for a down to earth love story about two complete opposites who help each other love again then this is the book for you. Its a love with no boundaries book that will make your heart feel good.

Combust by K. Bromberg

K. Bromberg is back and she is about to ignite a fire on some pages. Some books you read and move on to the next one and some you read that sit in your heart for a while making you remember why you pick up a book and read to escape the real world. This is one of those books. Ms. Bromberg had my heart melting with Grady and Dylan. I loved everything about this story. The truth, the heartache and the hopefulness of something more and something better.

It took me a little bit for Dylan to win me over, but Grady he had my heart from the first words he spoke. His heart, his courage and his will to love was something that settled in my heart and wouldnt let go.

Grady was the win in this book. He carried my heart the whole way through. He was the protector, the keeper and eventually the owner of everything that involved Dylan. These two would win you over on the best day, but give the words to K. Bromberg and you might as well check your heart at page 1.

Sex, Not Love by Vi Keeland

Vi Keeland knows how to write a book that will have you coming back for anything and everything she releases. Her characters are relatable and endearing and you cant help but want to hang on to every word and conversation they have.

Nat and Hunter's chemistry is off the charts. You can instantly feel that "it" that you always look for when reading about a couple. Hunter commands your attention right from the get go. He is charismatic, troubled, but most of all you know he is fixable. Nat is ferousion, vulnerable and yet a fighter. You know there will be feelings and fights and that is what kept me turning every page.

I'm not gonna lie. I'm used to Ms. Keeland making me laugh hysterically during her books so when there were moments of "what the hell is going to happen" I was yelling at her to make me laugh. That is how much you connect with Hunter and Nat. You want to be them and you want this story to be your story.
