Always In By: M.R. Joseph

I fell in love with Cruz and Harlow in book one. I loved both of them and together they such a sweet and funny couple. Book 2 picks up after the accident and from there it’s a complete roller coaster ride of emotions. Ms. Joseph can certainly write a story that will have you tearing at the pages to find your HEA. I won’t lie though I think I may have cussed her frequently right along with Harlow in book 2. Her for playing with my emotions.haha Harlow because I wanted her to want to fight for Cruz and the love that was lying dormant.

Cruz was his awesome strong, loyal and protective self. Cruz grew up so much since the beginning of book one and that just made my love for him stronger. My heart hurt having to see him love, lose and fall back to his old ways.

Finally, Ms. Joseph took pity on all of us (or she heard me cussing her) and started to unravel the HEA. The only thing I wanted was more of them. I felt like I lost their connection slightly and would have loved to have had more time with them together as a couple.  If you want a book that will bring out strong emotions then this is the book.

Promises Hurt By: Elle Brooks

I try to keep away from any books that may pull emotions out of me. I like my Alpha boys and will avoid anything to have my heart hurt. So 5% into this book when I feel myself tearing up I knew I was in trouble. Ms. Brooks brought a gem to the game of reading. I loved Blair with her quick wit and Ethan, well there isn’t much to say other than he was pretty much perfect. I wanted to cry, throat punch a few people and then drink myself under the table after the ending. Don’t get me wrong I knew there would be a book 2 so I won’t bitch too much, but if there is an ARC list I would like to pull out my handy dandy BLOGGER card to get on it..

I loved Ethan and Blair as individuals but loved them even more as a couple. They leaned on each other and for once it was just two people in love - who were not constantly breaking up or trying to make each other jealous. It was just a story about young love and two people trying to overcome shit circumstances albeit different circumstances, but shit all the same. Blair and her quirky sense of humor and Ethan with his steady loyalness and sexual innuendos makes it a fun read as well.

I love supporting new authors and this book is one of the reasons why. It's just one of those books you take a chance on and end up loving something beautiful and well written. She takes you on their journey and makes you fall for them. You will want to jump in the book and fight their battles with them.

Hot-Blooded BY: Kendall Grey

There are books you fly right through and there are books that take you days to read because you are just enjoying the read and letting it all slowly sink in. The latter was what Hot-Blooded was for me. The book had a little bit of everything that keeps you intrigued and turned on at the same time. I know there will be the people who bitch about the missing HEA. For me, though, it’s all about the send-off. Leaves you wanting more and wanting to choke the author all at the same time. It’s like being denied an orgasm, but feeling horny despite the abrupt ending.

When tragedy strikes Kea goes from a sweet child to badass bitch and protector of her brothers overnight. When failure is not an option she takes matters into her own hands. Her future is now making sure her Ohana is protected and cared for. Enter Blake. I wasn’t sure about him for at least 40% of the book. He is the type of character that grows on you. You may not agree with his motives, but you find yourself holding your breath hoping he makes the right decisions. They are both trying to protect family - blood or no blood, but somewhere questions start to form about who to trust and who to kill.

I can’t tell you how many times I questioned the author's sanity while reading this book. I mean who has these stories in their head. I don’t know whether to be turned on or freaked out with some of the twists and turns the book takes. The only thing you need to know is this story is different. It’s new and refreshing and a weird kind of twisted perfection.
