Brisé by Leigh Ann Lunsford

Leigh Ann Lunsford can write a damn story let me tell you. The story of Luke and Phoebe, although, angsty, is also heartbreaking and beautiful.  I think she secretly sits in her writing cave cackling with new ideas of how to have her readers fall in love with her characters only to rip it away for about 30% of the book. Even though she is guaranteed to rip your heart out you can’t help but come back for more because in the end you are left with a love story that was beautifully written.

Best friends, protectors, crushes and in the end saviors. Luke has been the rock for Phoebe since she was four years old. When fate hands them another blow and decisions are made Luke makes the only choice he can. Phoebe is strong willed and you will instantly like her. You may not understand her decisions when life gets tough but you will undeniably understand her choice to chase the healing she so desperately needs.

Some authors just get it. They get what speaks to the reader and know how to put it together to make you feel like you are the one in the story experiencing all the emotions and Ms. Lunsford is one of those authors. You will either want to strangle her for making your heart beat at a pace that isn’t normal or kiss her for giving you a book that will undeniably, be a book you will be thinking about for weeks.

Something Real by Lexi Ryan

I just got done devouring Something Real and can I just openly admit now that Lexi Ryan may just be my new girl crush. The writing is just that good by the time I looked at my kindle I was already at 40% and in fucking love again. Half the time I wanted to dry hump Sam and the other half I wanted to donkey punch his nuts possibly both at the same time. Man... did I love this guy.

Sam and Liz’s story has had me in their grasp since the first book. Ms. Ryan could write a story about a turtle crossing the road to meet its mate and I swear it would be a love story to battle all.

Liz is left heartbroken and at times I won’t lie I wanted to slap the shit out of her for always falling into Sam’s stories and trust me I love Sam. At times I wanted Liz to just walk away and quit having anything to do with him and his stories about Sabrina, but I also wanted her to fight for the love that was there. How I could feel so much love and yet want to nut punch the hell out of the guy who had me so in love with this book-the writing that is how.

Ms. Ryan I will confess my undying love to you here and now and possibly take your last name if you will just let me have more Sam. You wrote a story that lets the reader just get lost in the pages. You could have done two or thirty books about Sam and Liz and each time I would fall more in love.

Malevolent by Cassia Brightmore

Ms. Brightmore is about to rock your world with this book that will leave you intrigued and wanting to flip the pages before you ever even finish the one you are on. It’s guaranteed to leave you shaking your head wondering what the fuck just happened. She grips you at the first page and will keep you glued to them just to find out that you were completely wrong with most of your assumptions of who you think is the killer.

Brady will have you wishing a crazy killer was after you just so he can protect you, he is that hot. Every time he leaned down and whispered in her ear I swear I felt the shivers my damn self.

Gwyn is running from a past full of pain all while trying to find the person she used to be. When you first meet Gwyn you get the feeling that she is weak, but in all reality she is strong, sassy and ready to get back to the person she lost.
Brady…Brady…Brady…or as I call him, my new wet dream. He is everything you will ever want-hot and bossy and overbearing and pretty much my dream man.

I’m still in shock this is a first book by this author. There is something about a romance that turns mystery that just wraps you up in the world of who the hell did it- leaving you breathless in a world that seems real. Sometimes you come across a special book that leaves you in awe and at the same time slightly scared of the way the authors brain works.
